
Dr Claire Gaskin has been writing and publishing her poetry for over three decades. She holds a PhD in Writing and Literature from Deakin University.
Claire has published six books of poetry: A Snail in the Ear of the Buddha, https://catalogue.nla.gov.au/catalog/550854, a bud (shortlisted for the John Bray SA Festival Award for Literature in 2008), Paperweight, Eurydice Speaks and Ismene’s Survivable Resistance. Her most recent collection is Weather Event, published in 2024 by Life Before Man, the poetry imprint of Gazebo Books. Claire is currently working on a prose poetry collection supported by the Australian government having been awarded a Creative Australia grant
Claire is a highly experienced lecturer, teacher, mentor and facilitator of creative writing workshops across the tertiary, community and business sectors. She teaches poetry at the CAE and runs courses in creative writing via video conference. Claire is available for one-on-one mentoring and to run group sessions exploring the nature of creativity and how to keep a creative life alive. {Read more about Claire}.
